The student council organized its first lunchtime bake sale of the year two weeks ago to raise money for hurricane relief on the East Coast. With all the baked goods provided by the council members, the bake sale was a resounding success! Today, the council met to allocate the money they raised. Their meeting was a great testament to what many learned during the Social Entrepreneurship Project (6th grade) and the Tzedakah Project (7th grade). After a thoughtful discussion, the council voted to send $400 to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, an organization committed to working with local nonprofits to deliver funds where they are needed the most. Todah rabah!
