Monster Designers

7th and 8th grade Design Arts Wheel students stepped into the role of toy designers in an exciting STEM collaboration! Kindergarten students first sketched and imagined their own monsters, then shared their ideas during client design conferences with the older students. Using computer-assisted design (CAD) software, the 7th and 8th graders transformed these ideas into precise 3D-printable models. They collaborated closely with their kindergarten “clients” to refine and adjust the designs, ensuring every detail matched the original vision. Finally, the models were 3D-printed and returned to the kindergarten students, who painted and customized their creations alongside their older design partners, bringing the full design process to life–check out some photos HERE!
