The kindergarten class took a delicious field trip this week to the Cheese Board Pizza Collective (a worker-owned cooperative) in Berkeley. Students learned all about pizza ingredients, got elbow deep in flour while kneading dough, peered into an industrial sized mixer and then capped it all off by, no surprise, eating slice after slice of mouth watering pizza. The theme of sharing and equity was sprinkled throughout. Big thanks go to the Cheese Board and Jay Vigilla (dad to Asa and Hannah) for coordinating this fun trip, and to the parents who chaperoned and made it even more fun!
