In 6th grade social studies, students embarked upon the Create Your Own Civilization Project, learning about the seven features of civilization that originated in Mesopotamia over 5000 years ago. Working in small teams, students planned their own society and wrote a report outlining how it met the requirements of a civilization. Students then created either digital or physical presentations, ranging from a civilization on a plane to an island floating about Earth. The results were incredibly imaginative!
