As 5th grade learned about character traits in Language Arts, we embarked on a design project inspired by comic books! First, students reflected on their own character traits as their 'everyday' selves, then chose traits that embody their 'superpowers' to create superhero identities for themselves. After designing costumes and characters on paper, they used TinkerCad (3D modeling software) to create superhero action figures with our 3D printers. Students then refined their action figures with accessories and painted details, then designed cardboard backgrounds to imitate toy packaging. We encourage you to imagine what your superhero self would look like as you browse our action figure aisle!
