In 6th grade art class, Artist Rebecca Saylor visited to share her expertise in natural dyes with the 6th graders. She guided us through the process of making the beautiful indigo blue color and helped everyone dye their own bandanas.

In this cross-curricular project, 6th graders designed their own utopian civilizations, connecting themes from The Giver in English with the study of civilizations in Mr. Friedman's social studies class.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, 6th grade explored the art of Mexican artist Victoria Villasana, who embroiders on photographs to bring new life and energy to each image.
