Max's Speech

Max Lalezari - Graduation Address - June 10, 2020

Ever since I joined the Brandeis Community in 6th grade, It has felt like a second family to me. I remember when I was in 5th grade, here on my shadow day, and I knew this is where I wanted to spend the next three years of my life. I remember seeing the people that would become my classmates having fun learning. I have had so much fun here, and I have never looked back. I have had so many good memories at Brandeis and one of my favorites was when we were in Israel and we made it to the top of Mount Masada. It was really early in the morning and we had all been so tired and worked so hard to climb the snake trail, and when we got to the top, it was so beautiful. I remember looking out onto the barren desert and the dead sea and feeling pure joy. That’s what Brandeis is though - a place filled with people that at the bare minimum want to make you happy.

What I am most grateful for in Brandeis is how it has helped me grow as a person. When I came into sixth grade, I felt like a kid but after being here in this amazing school surrounded by friends, I feel like I am leaving a responsible teenager ready to take on the next stage of my life, highschool.

I want to give a special thanks to all of my teachers who have stuck by me and have not only taught me their various subjects, but also how to be a good person. I also want to say thank you for putting up with me for so long, I know I can be a lot. I finally want to thank my fellow class of 2020 for being themselves, and making me have an amazing middle school experience.
