Dear Brandeis Marin community,
Today, Governor Newsom announced the Regional Stay-at-Home order has been lifted!
Please read this email carefully as we seek to communicate the public health mandates that are now in place and our school's updated health and safety protocols to meet the challenges of this moment. Thank you in advance for reading this entire email.
We are returning to the Risk Reduction Order initially put into place on October 27, 2020. Marin County is still in the "purple" Tier 1 on the State of California's Blueprint for a Safer Economy. More information about the public health orders in effect for Marin County may be accessed here.
Here is a summary of the guidelines now in place.
Travel advisory On January 6, 2021, the CDPH issued a travel advisory encouraging all Californians to stay close to home and avoid non-essential travel that is more than 120 miles from one's primary place of residence.
Guidance about gatherings with other households Now that the Stay-at-Home order has been lifted, we return to the California Department of Public Health mandates about gatherings:
Brandeis Marin Protocols The Brandeis Marin protocols have been updated to align with the CDPH guidance:
With new variants of the coronavirus present in California, we must continue to adhere to the basic public health practices of wearing a face mask when we leave our homes, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands regularly.
Now as ever, it is essential for all of us to do our part to adhere to these mandates and ensure we do not see an increase in COVID cases in our community. Our ability to remain open to in-person learning depends on our individual decisions.
What steps can you take to keep your family and our community healthy?
While these guidelines loosen the restrictions, there are still dramatic limits on the kinds of activities in which we can safely participate. Sleepovers, dinner parties, game nights, and other social gatherings with more than 3 households need to be avoided. Think small, brief, and outdoors for your social activities.
We are in this together
I hope that sharing this information with you helps you better understand how you can keep your family and our community safe during this time. Thank you for your continued vigilance and partnership. Please reach out if you have any questions.
In solidarity, Peg |
