Dear Brandeis Marin families,
Marin County is now in the Orange Tier and as we look ahead to Passover break (which starts this Friday, March 26), I wanted to send a communication with a summary of the public health guidelines
With this change of tier status, there aren't many changes to the public health guidelines as they relate to school and our private gatherings. Most of the changes in public health guidelines relate to businesses and their operations.
That said, I want to be sure everyone has a concise resource of guidelines that do relate to our private gatherings and school.
Definitions: "Fully vaccinated" means two weeks or more have passed since an individual received their final vaccination injection. Everyone else is "unvaccinated" or "not yet fully vaccinated."

Hosting people inside your home While it is now permissible to host people inside your home, this is still considered a riskier behavior than being outside. If you do decide to host someone inside your home, it is likely your child will need to quarantine. Here is detailed information to help you understand the guidelines and plan accordingly.
Outdoor gatherings Outdoor gatherings continue to be the safest form of gathering. Public health maintains the position that only 3 households or less are permitted to gather outside at this time. (This number includes your household as one of the three).
Returning to school after experiencing symptoms of infectious illness
Remember!
After Passover break, we will return to distance learning for all students the week of April 5-9.
All students and staff need to take a COVID test before returning to in-person learning.
We will be offering free COVID testing for all students and staff between 8-11am on Tuesday, April 6, on campus. This will be a self-administered PCR nasal swab test.
Here is how the testing will work:
Results should be available prior to Monday, April 12. All students and staff will need a negative COVID result in order to return to in-person learning. (Note: If results are delayed for any reason, we will need to extend distance learning until the results become available.)
If your student cannot participate in our on-campus COVID testing on Tuesday, April 6, you will need to arrange for your student to have a locally administered COVID PCR test dated April 6 or later. Your student's negative test result must be shared with Michelle Baumert in the front office before your child may return to in-person learning.
To participate in our on-campus testing, you must sign up in advance.
All classes will have asynchronous learning the morning of Tuesday, April 6, in order to facilitate COVID testing. Plans for distance learning for all grades will be shared with families prior to Passover break.
With public health restrictions loosening, we ask that you carefully consider the guidelines outlined above as you make your plans for the Passover holiday and school break. We have achieved six consecutive months of in-person learning with zero days closed due to COVID. Our collective efforts are working, and I ask for your continued vigilance in following the public health guidelines.
With wishes for a restful break and a happy Passover, Peg |
